Jonathon is an experienced Hypnotherapist, counsellor and educator.  Jonathon utilises a client centred approach.  Jonathon focuses on you and your needs rather than a particular technique.  In this way Hypnotherapy, Ego States Therapy, Mindfulness techniques and Bio feedback are blended to provide a unique approach to what you wish to achieve.
 
Hypnotherapy: We have all been hypnotised at one time or another.
 
Hypnosis is simply the complete focus of attention, just like meditating or being absorbed in a movie.  A Hypnotherapist guides a client into this state in order to help the client work on a wide range of issues.  This may include behavioural change , dealing with emotions, anxiety, pain management and personal development.
 
Hypnosis works by gaining access to the subconcious mind.  It is well recognised that the brain has certain wave patterns that can be measured by Electro Encephalographs or EEG's.  Normally we are in the Beta state,  hypnosis  allows the client to enter the Alpha State and the even deeper Theta state.  These states are also accessed in meditation.  By accessing these states of mind the Hypnotherapist is able to work with the subconcious, utilising a wide range of techniques such as ego strengthening, suggestion  or regression to cause, to help the client deal with the issue or issues they present with.
 
It is important to note that most people do not feel hypnotised as there is no hypnotised feeling.  You will be aware of everything that is happening.  It is also  very important to note that
 
You cannot be made to do anything or say anything that is against your will!

Ego State Therapy: Ego State Therapy has been developed by Gordon Emmerson PHD , a registered Psychologist.    Ego State Therapy utilises hypnosis to get in touch with the various parts of the mind or 'Ego States' that may be in conflict, to help  find a resolution to "what you want to Change".  Imagine that you want to buy a new car: part of you is really keen to buy that shiny red sports car, another part of you is telling you that it is just not practical, the old car is OK or buy something more realistic.  This is an example of two ego states in conflict.  We all have many ego states, some are child like, some are nuturing, others agressive or assertive.  Ego State Therapy utilises hypnosis to allow each Ego State voice to be heard and to work towards a resolution of an issue.

Mindfullness and Biofeedback
Budhists have used mindfullness as therapy for thousands of years.  Western psychologists are only know understanding the power of mindfullness.  At Ki transitions we intigrate mindfullness into arange of treatments ans reinforve these with simple to use but powerful biofeedback techniques.  In this case itis aseasy a playing a specialy designed computer game
 
Cognitive Behavoural Therapy (CBT):  The way we think often affects our behaviour.  The aim of CBT is to identify innappropriate thoughts that affect our behaviour.  Some of these behaviours may not be helpful, such as avoidance or addiction.  Jonathon utilises Hypnotherapy in conjunction with CBT to get rapid changes to the problems that are affecting you.
